AMC (watched it since day 1) no comment men! Yes it is a soap opera. lol
ER
Gray's Anatomy
All tie for first place with me.
Also love to watch Disney channel (movies) with my kids.
When I ever have extra time I love watching shows like This old house..and redecorating shows. (Chris Lowe) LOL
Also, watch the oldies on late night on nick at night.
I love to also catch Oprah late at night if I'm bored with the computer.
But mostly I never have time to watch t.v. so I just turn it on and listen as I'm running around. I'm lucky I also have a tv on the computer so I can multi task.
Smallville, Blade: the Series (until they recently cancelled it  ), Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, and Ghosthunters. I like to watch the two old movie channels too, usually Saturday mornings, since the only cartoons I like (Batman, Justice League, Spiderman, etc) are always on far earlier than I'm awake. If I'm puttering around at home on the weekends, I'll have Gardening by the Yard or Farscape (yay for syndication!) on in the background.
Oh, and my husband and I always watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
Sorry, AMC is short for ALL MY CHILDREN.
It comes on between 12:00-1:00 p.m
Since it is on during lunch time is why I think that I could actually watch it for so many years. I started watching it when I was in middle school? Guess that shows how old I am if you are familiar with how long it has been on t.v!
I go through bouts of watching and NOT watching tv. In the summer I rarely watch anything.
I really used to like a show call Woodright's shop. This guy made wood shop projects using old hand tools and he provided a history of the tools.
I also used to like the old "This old house" ,the old originals are the best.
I do however enjoy watching "Ask this old house" I especially like the adlibed uses for common tools.
The one thing I rarely do is schedule for a tv show. If I sit down and see something I like , I watch it.
I always related AMC with "American Movie Classics" and there is nothing like an old movie. Rarely do you see movies as good as they used to make when Hollywood was Magic"
you guys still watch t.v? thats like soooo last decade.
ok, the truth is, i dont have any, i rarely turn the tv on. when i do, it takes about 1/2 hour and im so discusted that i swear im not going to ever turn it on again. so if i had to pick a favorite i vote for the test pattern.

Test Pattern?
That is sooooooooooooo 1950's...
Most tv channels since modern cable has become available are 24 hour opperations and they do not use test patterns. Or at least I have not sat in front of a TV long enough to a see a test pattern.
see how long its been. i shut cable off about 8years ago. with all the weird channels they have now, im sure there has to be a test pattern channel somewhere.

The way cable channels are branching out, I don't think it'll be long before there's a channel devoted to different test patterns and off-air blurbs, interspersed with ads...
Though the PBS station in Lansing while I was in high school had a pretty cool off-air screen. They finished the night off with that astronomy guy (does he still have new shows, I wonder?). This was during the first Gulf War, btw. They'd play a bugle and show Marines at attention, a sunset over Lake Michigan and then a frame of the American flag against a blue sky until the next morning's broadcast.
Heh. It must have made an impact for me to even still remember that...
Because of being NA$CAR fans we have had DirecTV sattelite for several years now.
One of DTV's newer additions is RFD TV, channel 379 on DTV. I know RFD is on Dish Network sattelite too, but have no idea of the channel number, and they are working on being available on cable providers too.
Anyway, our all-time favorites have become Midwest Country and also Steem Locomotives, both shows that 'air' on RFD.
In fact after watching Midwest Country for several months we decided to go to the Midwest Country Theatre in beautiful downtown Sandstone, MN. This past April we attended a Jannie Frickie show there and then in Oct. went again to see/hear Ray Price! (litterally an experience of a life time)
And for all you 'classic' country music fans, the Midwest Country Theatre has the absolute best current 'classic country' house band any where in the U.S. Our nest trip there will be a show where their house band is playing both sets/hours.

TCM - Turner Classic Movies: Great old flicks, real movie stars, no commercials, and often (but not often enough) letterbox format for the real screen experience.
Inside the Actors Studio - James Lipton does his homework and then some before interviewing today's stars as real people practicing their craft at the top of their game . Precious little of the hollywood gossip crapola. Great to see the fire in the eyes burning and the wheels of the mind turning.
The Dog Whisperer - Cesar Milano likes what he does. He's eminently practical and has a good heart. He takes care of dogs by fixing their owners.
BASEBALL - A great game to watch while you're working, especially with good play-by-play and color commentary. A few hours on the computer with the audio of a ball game and the luxury of looking up to see replays of the action.
Various Poker shows: I want to win the main event one day while I'm young enough to enjoy the fortune and fame.
In syndication:
M*A*S*H has been a favorite for years and years I have a signed copy of the Unofficial M*A*S*H trivia guide!
The Rockford Files - James Garner is the most likeable guy around, and the world's best TV detective
Frasier, a smart show
Star Trek, ST-TNG, DS9 - telling classic stories among new life and new civilizations, going where no one has gone before.
Anything Bob Newhart did - TV's equivalent of comfort food
Maverick, The Rifleman, Kung Fu - If they're on, I'll watch. Good values to grow up with.
Others:
Gilmore Girls - I like watching the females in my house watch this one
The West Wing - like GGirls, fast-paced, smart dialog in a great ensemble
I love watching....House, Deal or No Deal, Survivor, Cold Case, CSI, and I still enjoy watching reruns of old past prime time shows.
I also enjoy history and science related programs.
I enjoy all extreme sports programs.
I don't watch a lot of TV but when I do these are my pickins.
I love Seinfeld reruns. Since i'm going to school for something in the medical field, i'm drawn towards the medical shows. House, ER, and not so much medical related, but comedy, Scrubs. I also love watching Discovery Health. Trauma in the ER, Untold Stories of the ER, Rescue 911, Dr G. I also love Law and Order:SVU. Other than those shows, baseball and football are my favorite sports to watch, and the 4 golf majors. I watch WWE too since I have a couple buddies that wrestle for Vinny Mac. Davairi, Ken Kennedy, and Little Bastard.
Y & R, Deal or no Deal, Seinfeld, Survivor, Big Brother, Amazing Race, House, and I love those Discovery Health shows like Code Blue, Medical Mystery's, Medical Incredible, Trauma in the ER, etc.....
Then there is Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters.
Carol
My husband and I love Heroes. We always watch the Law & Orders and lots of PBS- Independent Lens, POV, In the Life, American Experience and cooking shows. I like American Dad and Family Guy, but feel the Simpsons is ready to rest in peace.
Lifetime Movies-
I can sit in front of the tv for hours on a Sunday watching lifetime or LMN, of course not every movie interest me, but they have a lot of cool movies based on true stories, which i like.
Reality TV-
AI, Americas next top model, Love of money, Charm school, Rock of love, Love of Ray J, Hells Kitchen, Chopping Block, Celebrity Apprentice, Real World, Survivor, AMW, Solitary, Paradise Hotel, Temptation Island, Trading Spouses, Wife Swap, America's Next best dance crew, so you think you can dance, Cheaters, Fear factor, The mole... just to name a few of those i watch or have watched in the past, but are now cancelled.
Soaps-
DOOL
Y&R
Been watching both soaps since i was a small child in the 70's, with my mom.
___
I'm a movie Junkie as well, so i dvr lots of movies & love "on Demand".
I seldom find time to sit & watch any of the shows listed or others that i like, I dvr everything & watch when i can, sometimes i end up watching 2 or 3 weeks of a series all at once, other times i'll end up watching a movie or show i've recorded a week or two later, but i manage to get to them all eventually, while i sit & play cribbage online & watch them
My all time favorite shows right now are "American Idol" and "Desperate Housewives"...I don't miss an episode of either if I can help it.
Others I watch are "Chuck", "Kyle XY", "The Medium", "Saving Grace", "The Mentalist", "Lie to Me", "Bones", "Psych", "Dollhouse", "Law & Order CI", "House", "Breaking Bad" and "In Plain Sight". I don't turn on the tv during the day even though I am usually home.
