Germinated Seeds

2 parts oats
1 part whole wheat

Fill a large jar about half full with seed and fill with warm water.

Let the jar sit about 12-24 hours then drain seeds and rinse with cold water.

Rinse seeds about two times a day. Make sure the seeds do not get sour so mix them around in the jar.

Serve seeds moist not wet.

1/3 cup hand feeding formula
2/3 cup oatmeal (any style)
1-8½ oz. box Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
2-1/3 cup fruit juice
1/3 cup vegetable oil
5 eggs with shells (may be beaten in blender)
Fresh chopped or frozen fruits & vegetables
Chopped nuts

Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.

Batter should be thin; add more juice if necessary.

Bake in a 9 x 13 inch greased pan, at 350° for 25-30 minutes.

Sweet Potato Balls

(skunks, raccoons, and bunnies also enjoy this)

1 large sweet potato, microwaved till soft
1/2 cup raisins
1 mashed banana
1 cup mixed fresh or frozen mixed vegetables
1 cup diced apples
1-1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
corn flakes or granola cereal

Mix all together and add enough fruit or vegetable juice to make it form small balls.

Freeze balls individually.

Defrost and serve.

Re: Homemade Bird Snacks

Seed Sticks

Leftover pancake batter *(or make some just for these!)
Additives: seeds, ground up shells, nuts, pellets

Dilute the leftover batter a little and mix in pulverized sterilized eggshells, pellets, and mixed seed.

Cook it in a lightly oiled skillet until it is set enough to handle and then slice into sticks.

Bake the sticks in a warm oven until they are solid.

You also could pour the batter into any kind of mold and baked, skipping the skillet step.
