Mysterious South American bird in WI

Seems as if a rare bird for this area really loved the back yard of a Wisconsin home. After reading this story though I worried what will happen to this little bird when the weather turns cold. Sounds as if it may not be able to make it back to it's native country.

I sure hope that South American Humming bird finds his way back to where he should be. The above pics I took 9-16-07 while caring for a clients home. He has flocks of humming birds around his house, and one of my jobs was too keep the feeders full. I filled 5 feeders daily. It was great sitting there watching the birds.

I hope the avian specialist can capture the Hummer to at least have it in a Zoo, Indoor Botanical Garden or like Kaytee Bird Foundation until it can fly back home. Lost

I hope they catch it also. Do we even know if they are trying to catch it??

What do you use to catch a humming bird? I'd guess some sort of net, but that means watching the feeder 24/7 until the bird shows up again

I hang a hummingbird feeder in my back yard too, I did recently see a hummingbird a few months back at it but, I was not fast enough getting the camera.

I'm sure with 700 spectators that someone will catch the Hummer. The bird specialist will have the necessary equipment.

I love it when Hummers begin to fight. They make such a ruckas! I can't think of a more territorial bird than the Hummingbirds.
