Question Avian Information Help!

This is for all the bird owners and breeders out there.
With the new classifieds section that we have, we can now add custom fields for those of you posting classifieds. I am hoping that people browsing the classifieds will be able to get more information from viewing the ad.

Since I know very little about birds, what I need help on is a list of fields that would make sense adding to the bird ads.

I am thinking things like:
age
personality
size
type

I would appreciate any suggestions to make this section more informative.

Re: Avian Information Help!

Thanks.

I added some categories to the other pet sections, but haven't finished. I appreciate the input.

Re: Avian Information Help!

all of the abover and add feather plucker? Many will get rid of their bird because it plucks it's feathers. It's plucking because it's stressed either internally or externally.

Any medical conditions?

Re: Avian Information Help!

I totally agree Carol. Birds who pluck are unhappy due mostly from stress, medical condition or being beat up from clutch mates.

Re: Avian Information Help!

I've had 2 pluckers come thru here. One a lesser sulfer cockatoo and the other a umbrella cockatoo
The lesser sulfter would freek out to any loud noise, music, yelling etc....and he'd pluck away and scream.
The umbrella was harder to figure out why he was plucking but later determined it was due to his diet.
Once both were in new environments/diets both began to pluck less and less and today the umbrella has great feather. The lesser sulfer has some feathers growning back. But he's a harder case due to noise levels
So one was an internal stress and the other a external stress = feather plucking
