Smoked Beef Brisket
Author: demon71
Time:
8 hours
Difficulty:
medium
Serving Size:
depends on how much sampling was done during the smoking process
Description
This is a great way to spend a day making something that will satisfy the taste buds of anyone.
Ingredients
  • First the BBQ sauce
  • 2 bottles of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 2 bottles of dark beer
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 1/3 of a container of BBQ shrimp seasoning (available from fiestaspices.com)
  • 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 whole fresh brisket
  • 4 red bell peppers
Preparation
  1. This is a very simple recipe and the preparation is very simple.
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients for the BBQ sauce together in a disposable aluminum pan at least 3 inches deep (like a turkey roasting pan) and set aside.
  2. Smoke the bell peppers and the brisket at 160 degrees or so for about 4 hours
  3. Remove the brisket from the smoker and cut into 1 inch cubes and place in the pan of BBQ sauce. Slice the peppers and add to the pan.
  4. Return the brisket and sauce to the smoker and continue to smoke for an additional 4 hours or so depending on the heat of the smoker and flavor of the meat.
  5. Stir the brisket every 10 minutes or so. This will create a glazed surface on the brisket cubes. Sample as needed.
  6. Serve on your favorite bun or by itself.
  7. If the smoker is large enough you may want to consider adding a few ears of sweet corn. Soak the sweet corn, husks on, and then place in the smoker for about 4 hours. It goes great with the brisket.
  8. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smoke the bell peppers and the brisket at 160 degrees or so for about 4 hours
Remove the brisket from the smoker and cut into 1 inch cubes and place in the pan of BBQ sauce. Slice the peppers and add to the pan.
Return the brisket and sauce to the smoker and continue to smoke for an additional 4 hours or so depending on the heat of the smoker and flavor of the meat.
