Brewers season

Little surprised that there isn't more chatter (myself included) about the Brewers and their season at this point. We're going into October with a very realistic shot at the playoffs and even doing well once we get there.

We should be proud of our boys. They're doing well. Got some young bucks on the team that look like they're playing for the team and not the self-promotion.

Keep it up boys!

Mark

Re: Brewers season

I hear you, Mark.

I've been watching whenever I can. Some huge, fun comeback games, and some huge blown leads that are a disappointment, but always an effort, and always fun. They've made good consistent PR moves that seem heartfelt above PR efforts to be part of a lot of community functions.

Gotta love a lot of the players, and how well they fill their roles too.

Pitching's been the sore spot, and there have been pleasant surprises and super performances there, too.

2 1/2 back right now with a home stand coming. I've got ticks for the last game of the season (better than the nose bleed seats last time ) and I'm hoping they'll still be in the race! Regardless, they're going to be fun to watch in coming years.

If it comes down to the last game, hope you'll lead the chat.

Regards,
Keith

Re: Brewers season

Fantastic win for The Crew tonight.
13-5 final. 13 runs with 12 hits for The Crew, with one error. The Cards, on the other hand, needed 10 hits to get 5 runs, and tallied a total of 3 errors.
Homer number 48 for Prince Fielder. His home run blast nearly hit the AT&T sign for a $50,000 bonus. Ryan Braun hit his 33rd homer. AJ Hardy contributed with a RBI double.
A trio of Brewers were ejected from the game at the top of the 7th inning, including GM Ned Yost. It was the second straight early trip to the showers for the Brewers skipper, who was upset on Sunday in Atlanta about two seventh-inning calls that Yost said cost his team the game.
It's good to see the Crew playing ball. They remain at 3 games out of first, trailing the idle Chicago Cubs. Any combination of 4 Cubs wins, or Brewers loses, would eliminate the Brewers from The Divisional Play-offs.

Re: Brewers season

It'd be a shame not to make the playoffs after the year they've had. Even if they don't, they've brought back the Brew Crew from obscurity.

Give'm hell boys!

Re: Brewers season

Cubs Lost!!!!

They better make it this year, but if not this year then definitely next year. Hopefully with the added revenue from all the amazing fans this year we can pick up a veteran starter.

Re: Brewers season

So far this season of Milwaukee Brewer Baseball has been nothing short of exciting.
The Crew has had comebacks that set a fan on the edge of their seat. On the other side of the coin, they have muffed games that make the young go gray.

Re: Brewers season

Turnbow as a closer makes me nervous. Although he can really zing'em across...he seems to get wild with his pitches after a certain point. What he might believe to be a strike going dowwn the pipe, often times turns out to be a ball. When he has his trajectory on mark, it seems to be too slow, and the resulting hit comes out to be a game winner for the opposition.

...watch Turnbow walk a run or two in before Coach Ned drags him out of there!

Re: Brewers season

Yeah that was a rough game to watch. We need help in the bullpen if we have any shot at this.

Re: Brewers season

11-6 win over the Padres.
Great showing for the "Crew" today. Sad to see that it's the season finale.

Alot of Brewer talent is recognized today, Prince Fielder for his club record of 50 home runs, being nominated for the Hank Aaron Award. Be sure to go to The Official Site of Major League Baseball: Fan Forum: Hank Aaron Award to vote.
Seems sad to see what might have been Goeff Jenkins' final game in a Brewer uniform. 10 years in a Brewer uniform. Jenkins hit a total of 21 home runs this season, 212 as a Brewer, second to Robin Yount's 251.

Milwaukee finishes the season just 2 games out of first place, behind the Chicago Cubs.

I've always been a Cubs supporter, so I'll be rooting for them in the post season.

AH HECK...there's always next year!

GO BREWERS...GO BREW CREW!

Just got home from this game. Even though they already had no chance at the playoffs and they already clinched their first winning record in 15 years, the day was perfect and the atmosphere was great.

The umps calls continued to be disturbing.

Had fun hearing roars here and there from Packer fans catching a glimpse of that game - about 1 of every 4 TVs in the place were tuned to Green Bay's game against Minnesota.

The crowd treated Jenkins well. Great to see the coach bring him out of Left in the top of the ninth so he could get the standing O recognition he deserves.

Don't know why Fielder wasn't in today. Thought he still wanted to eclipse his Dad's HR record by one.

2007 was fantastic. Today was the 31st sellout game at Miller Park.

If we can pick up a starter and another reliever, further develop the ones we have, 2008 ought to be our year!

Regards,
Keith
