We have camped here twice now, the 1st time with a tent and second with our pop-up.
This is a a grand old park with fairly decent facillities but the Falls and the "Bad River" WOW! This is an awesome place for photographers. There are quite a few trails and the ascent to the tower is amazing and difficult. I'd love to get up there in fall sometome and get some shots from the look-out.
For most of us this is quite the drive for a weekend camping trip but well worth the drive. Campers with small children should be very carefull in the park!!!!!!!
The photo was taken in october after the color was gone and right after a fresh snowfall. The photo also gives you a good idea of what the trails are like. In the summer you MUST have bug spray or you will be eaten alive. If you like waterfalls this is a MUST see park.
I wrote this to decribe the feeling I got when we visted ths park.
You hear the sound of thunder
and feel it in the ground
yet no sign of lightening
anywhere to be found
it was late October
when we found this Wisconsin park
we drove though winter
on a simple lark
converging water rushing
from every which way
the name of the river is not good
but describes it perfect that I can say
If I were a painter
and had one color to use
I would use sepia as my choice of hue
The town this park is by
is no Indian name
but mention a fruit
you will find the blame
