Scrapbooking Help- Working with Damaged Photos
I'm embarking on a scrapbooking project and haven't scrapped in a while. I'm hoping other Bubbler scrappers have some ideas! What I need help with is removing damaged photos from an old scrapbook and putting them into a new album.
I am taking apart an old scrapbook my grandma made. She must have assembled it in the 50's and used regular tape to attach the photos to the paper pages. This has become a rescue mission because, of course, none of her materials were acid/lignin free.
Most of the photos have the four corners taped to the pages with yellowing tape. How would you suggest removing the photos so I don't damage them? I want to get them off the bad paper and remove as much of the old tape as I can. Some of the oldest photos are already dry and splitting.
I'd like to put the photos in my new album with photo corners, but I'm thinking a lot of the photos may be too damaged. I don't want to use double-sided tape either because I may remove and scan the photos someday.
What do you think the best options would be?
