Milwaukee Walk for Farm Animals

On September 26th, we're going to have our annual Walk for Farm Animals again at the lakeside. The Walk for Farm Animals is a fundraiser for one of my favorite charities: Farm Sanctuary.

Farm Sanctuary is a national, non-profit animal protection organization. Each year they rescue, rehabilitate and provide lifelong care for hundreds of animals rescued from factory farms, stockyards and slaughterhouses.

Please join us for our Walk!

Milwaukee Walk for Farm Animals
Saturday September 26th
Registration time 11:30 am, Walk time 12 noon.
Bradford Beach at North Point, 2400 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive
(We meet in the parking lot right next to the beach area.)

The registration fee is $15 if you sign up in advance and $20 the day itself. For this money you'll get a special Walk for Farm Animals t-shirt designed by Herbivore Founder Josh Hooten. If you want the t-shirt, you have to sign up about 2 weeks in advance.
(You're also very welcome to not sign up and just join us!)

Since this is my first message on this forum, I'm not allowed to post any links yet. So I can't give links to registration pages, Farm Sanctuary or the Walk page. (A google for "Walk for Farm Animals" will help you though.)
Please contact me for more information!

If you care about farm animals, please join us. They need our help!

This picture I took at Farm Sanctuary, when I visited them last time.
The mother of these piglets was rescued from a factory farm and they were born shortly afterwards.

Re: Milwaukee Walk for Farm Animals

Thanks for posting the link.

The Walk is tomorrow. Please come join us!
We'll also have lots of information for those interested in this subject.

When you buy a hamburger, some turkey slices or a box of eggs, it's very easy to just enjoy this food without ever wondering how it was produced.
It's especially easy to ignore the suffering behind these products, because everybody else is buying them.
However, just because "everybody else" does something, that doesn't make it right.
It's not my intention to preach about wrong and right here.
If you're reading this message, all I'm asking is that you look behind the innocent turkey slices and try to find some information about the food animal industry.
Get informed, so you can truly decide whether you want to consume these products.
