SLEDDING, IT'S NOT JUST FOR KIDS IN MILWAUKEE.

Door County Sled Dogs will be hitched up and ready to go with rides for everyone at Milwaukee's Veterans Park. Rides will be from 11:00 a.m-1:00 p.m. on Weekends during the winter. They have a few dates off so please call first.

The Dog team will have 4-6 grown Siberian Huskies along with Bonnie Ulrich and Rick Desotell. The team would like to welcome you to the park where you can meet the dogs and also learn all about the sport.

They also offer dog practice at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the same location, Veterans Park.

Great stuff! Used to work with a woman whose hobbpy was dog sledding and raising sled dogs.

Does anyone out there have a great sled or toboggan? Or just one of those saucers? Nothing wrong with them...just remember getting 6 or 8 of us on a toboggan for a great run.

I remember when I lived with my dad in Fairport, NY as a kid, we had a steep hill next to the house and we all had saucer sleds.. my dad went down the hill and actually did a flip, end over end..

The last time I went sledding was in the late 90's in Maplewood Park overlooking the Genesee River in Rochester, NY. I bought some sleds for a neighbor's kids and took them sledding.. a great time was had by all. Good, clean fun!

I remember if we didn't have a sled we made do with whatever was handy, mostly cardboard boxes!
