OnYourMark, LLC - the people that bring you theBubbler.com and the whole www.WisNetwork.com network of Wisconsin sites - has a new site ready for testing: www.WisTube.com!
If you've heard of YouTube, and you know the people at theBubbler are interested in, you probably have an idea of what WisTube is all about: video by, for and about Wisconsin people.
Here's the deal. You register, then you upload your Wisconsin related video. If it is already in Flash (a *.flav file), we'll have it up in one business day or so. If your video is in another format, we may need 2 or 3 business days to convert it.
We'd like your help for a couple of reasons.
First, we'd like to have a lot of good Wisconsin video on the site already when we launch for the general public. Upload yours!
Second, we'd like to work out any glitches. If you find any, or just have a suggestion, please post it here in this thread.
We hope you'll use the same Member name you have at theBubbler, though it isn't absolutely necessary. If you do, that will make it easier to tie your videos to your Member page later on.
We welcome your questions and suggestions....and your videos!
We've completed six Wisconsin Business Owner Interviews that we'll be adding to WisTube.com over the next week.
I also plan to get some video up from prior Wisconsin Dells camping trips for theBubbler Members ~ also in the next week or so! And we'll add a few minutes of footage from theBubbler Members on a Dells Jet Boats trip!
Most of the rest of my Wisconsin footage is birthday parties for the kids and the like...so I hope you all have some footage to add!
This will be interesting, but alas you do not accept .wmv's so that means re-rendering, that will take some time, I'll be back when I have the time to re-render. I hope the forum will include tips on editing as I will have many q's.
Thank for the opportunity , Keith

I saw you there this morning (and sent you my first WisTube PM - did you get that?)!
Thanks for checking it out!!! If you have video anything like the photos you're kind enough to share with us here ~ wow!
We'll contact you to see if we can help with re-rendering!!!
We had some problems uploading large files yesterday. We started uploading the first one or two Wisconsin Business Owner Interviews and the uploads timed out on us, even as we made them shorter.
We'll work on this. Please bear with us as we beta test, and ask you to test with us.
If you have video files that need to be re-rendered...
WE WILL HELP YOU if you have DIGITAL video files that need to be re-rendered.
Send a Private message to keith and I'll send you access to the Secure FTP area where you should send your video. Please include a small text document with it that tells us your name and your Member name at theBubbler so we can notify you when your re-rendered video is ready. That way you can upload it to WisTube under your name and with your notes.

Go ahead and upload these through the site and we'll re-render them!
Regards,
Keith
p.s.: Call Christian after 2 today and he'll give you SFTP if you'd rather do that.
p.p.s.: http://stoney.podbean.com/ is great stuff...if you want to have more heard, hmmm, consider putting the music to video! Even if the video is a "zinger" - slides to music.
I'm one of the administrators on WisTube, I'm letting everyone know that I have been getting an error when trying to upload files to the website, I have tried a few times at a few different formats, and file sizes. The only file I got to work so far is an FLV file that was 1.2MB and was compressed on the smallest size possible, and it looked like garbage so I immediately removed it.
I'm going to try a few more things, see if it has something to do with the way I'm rendering in the original format.
Here is the error message I've been getting, something to look out for.
You are now able to upload all formats as specified on the homepage. We have also added functionality for WMV files, although it will not autodetect the dimensions.
I successfully posted the first Wisconsin Business Owner Interview on WisTube.com, it is now there and available for viewing. The interview is Gerard I. "Jerry" Schritz of Intelegist LLC. It is in three parts.
So check it out and I look forward to seeing more videos up on WisTube in from me and from all of you.
I am working on putting the last 5 Wisconsin Business Owner Interview parts up tonight...so for sure by the time everyone wakes up tomorrow, or Sunday, you will have the rest of the interviews to watch.
Also I'm passing on this tidbit...WisTube is almost ready to go live, we just need to look into security. So soon, and very soon...
But in the mean time...keep posting...keep testing, I'm looking forward to seeing more stuff.
So I've tried several times to put one last file on, making us up to date on the Wisconsin Business Owner Interviews, but I keep running into a snag, I get a message that says
Could Not Enter Information
So we'll have to figure out what the problem is there, the file size is under the limit, so there is no problem there, I've re-rendered the file and converted it twice, so we'll have to solve that dilemma.
Problem solved, if anyone keeps getting this message please let us know.
I successfully uploaded the last of the Wisconsin Business Owner Interviews (Last completed interview, not last ever...more to come). So please feel free to check them out, the ones I have uploaded are:
Gerard I. "Jerry" Schritz, Intelegist, LLC
Al McBride, Threading 101
Al Gaudynski, Al Gaudynski & Associates Inc.
Rolfe Kuchta, Old World Builders
Don Wooldridge, Batching Systems, Inc.
Beyond those I have also uploaded several 30 second commercials by various companies.
More to come for sure...and maybe a few of my own videos?
Just checked out the new tutorial and I hope my questions shouldn't be in the 'silly questions' section lol but....
how do you make the screen larger?
how do you turn the sound up?
I have watched a ton of videos etc before and I just right click and pick full screen etc. I cannot find where you offer this option. I tried right clicking everywhere and it stays small in the little box area. It gives a few choices such as zoom in and out etc. but nothing makes it to where I can actually read what is on the screen.
Also, I have tried my volume on my computer and checked all around (tools etc) and cannot find a turn up button. I simply cannot hear what you are saying. And it's quiet in the house right now! lol
OK< I'm sure all of this is right in my face so if you can point my face in the right place I really appreciate it.
thanks,
pk
Yes. I've seen others try to enlarge the screen right away. That would be useful.
Also, the volume is not high enough on some of the videos. We can and should do a better job on that.
In the Video box, there are is a slider, it's on the bottom of the window, second from the right. There is a triangle in the slider to represent low volume to high volume. It looks like it defaults to high volume, so I will check to see if I'm having an audio issue in the video file itself. I will post a follow up to that one.
As for the size widow, next to the volume slider is a small button with three dashes on it. If you click on that it can adjust the size...I just spoke to Mike, and he said that it does work, but it won't make it any bigger then you are seeing it. It will only make it smaller.
Anymore questions please let us know. That volume may be my fault, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Thanks, Christian.
Could be we need to record/render louder.
Could we also make the default sizes so the one we see is the smaller, or in the middle, of possible sizes?
It is true the audio on the Tutorial is low to non existent, this is my fault due to some poor render settings.
I have done some of my magic, and have a working copy, in the mean time I have removed the bad audio version, and am uploading the new one. So for all those who wished to watch this tutorial, give it an hour and it will be up on WisTube.
So the audio in the tutorial works on some browsers it seems to be hit or miss depending on which one. The file will be online to view, but we need your help...we are trying to figure out the bug that is causing the audio to not work, so if you could please watch TheBubbler Tutorial on the Classifieds, or any other video, and let us know
-which video you viewed
-and what browser you are using.
