Speaking of husband pet peeves. Mine always puts things back in a different place than before. It's a pain trying to find things when it's not where it should be. I'm forever going back in the kitchen cupboards to put items where they should be in the first place. I think I need to paint an outline of the dishes or food items on the shelf so he puts it back there. Then he wonders why he can never find any of his stuff when he's always putting things in the wrong place. He loses his car keys at least once a month.

At least yours puts things away. My husband rarely puts anything away. Most things get put on the kitchen table or desk when he comes in the door and that's where they usually stay unless I put them away or ask him to. Then I get the "Pa Kettle" response of "I'll get to that one of these days."
And about the key thing. I keep telling him to hang them up when he comes in and you would think he would learn after having to hunt through the whole house several times because one of the cats "stole" them off the table to play with them during the night, but nope, he still doesn't hang them up. There have been times when he leaves all of his keys in a pouch in his truck and I have to remind him to bring them in the house. He has never quite gotten around to making duplicate of any of his vehicle keys so if someone stole the pouch he would be SOL! I also wanted him to label the keys since he has probably over 50 sets of keys and I would have no idea what vehicles they went to if something ever happened to him!

I hate it when they do that! Mine will also open things up and not put the mail back in the envelope but tosses it all in a pile on the table instead for me to sort through. Grrrrr!
Ahhh.....the little things they do that bug the crap out of us, huh? LOL
