I wish I had a nickel for everytime I heard that the stimulus was going to put Americans to work fixing our crumbling roads and bridges. Well, if that were true, why then is the Chamber of Commerce lobbying the White House to raise gas taxes another 10 cents per gallon to fix roads and bridges?
With over 700 billion stimulus dollars left to spend, what's the problem? Why raise taxes? Just write some checks for all those "shovel ready" projects.
