My son received some good news yesterday....he is getting a foreign exchange student as his college roommate for this fall. He had requested one because he got tired of having guys who drank and smoked the past two years. The new roommate is from Germany and is also majoring in Computer Science so they will have that in common.
The guy he roomed with last year would have his girlfriend stay in the tiny dorm room with him for a week at a time and he was a big underage drinker too! He even brought his own dorm refrigerator so he could keep his booze in it. My son really struggled with that since he is so against alcohol and drinking. He was so glad when school was done! Hopefully, this year will be better for him and his new roommate won't be a drinker.
