The only time I did catch a fish though we let it go right away. I am totally for catch and release.

Not much to it. Just throw a line out and wait and wait...and wait. We used to fish all the time when I was a kid. Very relaxing being out in a boat. My dad got the job of putting the worms on the hook. There was no way I was going rip those big worms in half to put on a hook. It's fun when you catch a fish that likes to put up a fight, because it's a battle to see who wins.
The downside to catch and release is that the fish can become injured from the hook and throwing him back is pointless if he just dies anyway. I'm for catch and eat!
When my brother and I were young we had a little saying we said while waiting for fish to bite. "Fishy, fishy, wishy, wishy, come and bite my hook." Good times back then. I always used a cane pole to fish with and that amused my family since the line is so long you end up with the fish sometimes hitting the side of the boat with a loud thunk. That was a lucky fishing pole, caught many fish with it.
