When I lived in NY, I used to go fishing nearly every day.. we either always lived on a pond, on the lake (Ontario), river, or bay.
One thing I miss about living here in Missouri, I don't live near any water. I'm used to living near a lake or the ocean!
To stay on topic, I used to own a huge box of tackle that I bought at a garage sale for $50.. rarely used any of the lures tho as I always preferred live bait so sold the tackle for $300 (nice profit).
Never had any luck with artificial lures to speak of except for one time when I cast a spinner lure and a bass immediately tore it off my line!

I remember one time years ago, I was taking a tax course and I sat on the pier reading my tax book while watching my husband have the fun of fishing. But actually it can be very relaxing just being there.
The only time I did catch a fish though we let it go right away. I am totally for catch and release.
