Her mom told me on the phone that she told Misty "whatever makes you happy" and I told her I told Misty the same thing. Misty actually met someone once she wouldn't date because of the age difference... guess we just clicked and she made an exception.
Meanwhile, we're enjoying our time together.

If her Mom is OK with it, she is OK with it, and the sister is also with someone older, than it's seems the norm for this family and not going to cause grief, then what is the issue. So as you said it so nicely, you are enjoying your time together. Think about it... that is more than alot of people have right now. Many are alone and wishing they could have as much. Or dating, married whatever and not happy. So if it is working for all concerned, then what's the harm is my thoughts
I have to add that it is a bit odd, but then my second husband was 9 years younger than me. I know that isn't as much as your situation but hey, like I said, if it isn't causing grief among her family and they are OK with it, then go for it. Maybe in this time of your life and her's this is what you both need right now.
