The place to go when I was a kid for the best hamburgers was a placed in town (Zion, Illinois) called Zippy's. Totally loved to eat there, and it was a great place to hang out at when we were teens. The owners decided to retire and move to Florida and the place was torn down and Burger King was built.
Another place everyone hung out at was the Dog n Suds. They had good burgers to but my Mom wouldn't let us go there, said it had the 'rough' kids there. lol Later good friends of mine turned the old Dog & Suds into a great place to eat burgers, pizza, etc. The place was called Brudders. Really miss the food they had there. Hate when a favorite place closes down.
Such a loss. Chris moved on to other things and now is the founder/admin of goflo.com in Zion and doing great.
But I still miss his burgers and such. lol
Jack in the Box was big back then in Zion too. Loved to go there for burgers. I think a few Jack in the Box is still open out West in Washington and places maybe down south but none around here that I know of. Anyone have a Jack in the Box? I would get a kick out of going there again.
