I read the whole article.
This article is more than just about a piece of artwork. It's about this piece of artwork being one of many references to Obama as some sort of Messiah. This "artist" is just jumping on that bandwagon (regardless of his press release) for some quick promotion. Worked well too. Can you imagine anyone doing this with Bush? Doubt it. Let's not forget that after 100 days, Obama is no more popular than other Presidents at this point even though that's not the message you're given by the "worshipers".
I also find it insulting and blasphemous. Anyone who calls themselves a Christian should be troubled by this trend.
Perhaps a review of the first commandment would help.
