This New Year is beginning with a happy note all of its own; both for skunks, and the people who study, rescue, educate the public, love and speak in the skunks' behalf. The program "Nature", on PBS, presents "IS THAT
SKUNK?" premiering nationally Sunday January 25 [EST]. (Check your local listing). This will be the FIRST one hour skunk documentary ever filmed based solely on the skunk.
Cody and Arnold Hildebrand, of Wild Brother Animal Behavior Study are happy and proud to announce that portions of our last summer's night videos of wild skunks were selected for this ground breaking program ( IS THAT SKUNK?). Wild Brother video footage can be identified by the amber lighting surrounding the skunks at night.
Others who also worked very hard with this award winning producer John Rubin of John Rubin Productions Inc., in the filming of this program are:
Jerry Dragoo the Director of the Institute for the Betterment of Skunks and Skunk Reputation, located in New Mexico involved in research with skunks and
a skunk sanctuary.

Deborah Cipriani of North Ridgeville Ohio, who is involved in the study, research, education and rescue of both wild and domestic skunk, Louanne Johnson , Antioch University, who studies and researches the impact skunks have on ground nesting shore birds in Martha's Vineyard, Mass..
And the people of Marysville California, a town over taken with skunks in the summer of 2008.
GREAT JOB GUY'S.... Please join us in supporting this documentary ( IS THAT SKUNK?), and pass this information on to all your skunk friends. Also if you have access to your own website, the posting of this information is important.. The more viewers this program receives, will make for great ratings, possibly resulting in future programs on skunks.
With this documentary, the door is opening for the skunk. Let's all help him make it through. You can help make this series of "Nature" become one of their most popular ever. This is our big opportunity folks, to help the skunks we all know and love receive the recognition they deserve.
Hopefully this first on the skunk, will finally let everyone find out everything they ever wanted to know about skunks, but were afraid to take a good wiff to find out. You will never look at skunks in the same way again.
Nature's documentary, IS THAT SKUNK?, as noted is a Production of John Rubin Inc., and is the thirteenth in association with WNET.ORG for PBS.

A SPECIAL TRIBUTE IS DUE! No matter how far we have come, and what direction we are going, we must all take a moment to remember two people who dedicated their lives to skunks, JANE BONE and GINNY LAUT. Without their guidance, many of us would not be where we are today... or who we are. Although they cannot be physically with us on the 25th, God in his goodness has reserved for Jane and Ginny, the best seats in the house. Enjoy the program girls!
