I saw it twice the weekend it cam out. The first was the Thursday Midnight showing with my husband, then again the next night with my daughter. I was pretty satisfied with it. I liked it A LOT better the second time around. I was probably too busy scrutinizing it the first time around.
My husband thought it was okay, but was not overly thrilled. I had to explain some things to him here and there since he has never read the series. There were lots of giggles in the theater that he didn't really understand. There were some parts that were sort of an "inside joke"....they were funny if you have read the books and understood, but not so much if you didn't.
The second time around I was much more relaxed about it, so it was much better for me. My daughter loved it. She has read Twilight and New Moon, so had a pretty good idea of what was going on. Over all I would say they did pretty well with it. There was a lot of dialog from the book, which I like. There were certain things that bugged me, but overall I would give it a 4 out of 5, especially if you have read the books.
