OK, enough of that for a bit....just ran into a lot of interesting stuff.
I'll add more for housing and heating soon enough. Very passive to build with overhangs, to have double door entryways (inner and outer doors) or entrances inside of patios, south facing windows...all sorts of ways to be energy efficient in housing.
Light bulbs! Most of mine are now the low watt, natural sunlight white compact fluorescent variety, purchased on sale at Menards, with a rebate as big or bigger than the sale price. Better light, lower cost and last much longer.
Trees! Plant shade trees close enough to shade from summer sun but allow winter sun!
Simple stuff we all need to do individually. Hope to hear more of these and great, grand ideas here.
