I'm kind of divided on the issue. I mean, with film, it's a gamble and the studios are only too happy when they show a profit but often a movie may tank for reasons other than the star's performance so it'd be hard to say because certain movies lost money the star is to blame.

Sports might be another matter though. I think alot of professional athletes get alot more than they might deserve because most of them play on a team. A home run hitter can't win a game on his own.
