Re: WISgreen...
Going green
living green
producing green
is popular at the moment with the price of gas going up, we again are looking at alternatives fuels and transportation.
I can recall back in 1974 with the oil embargo that all the Polititians talking about reducing dependance on foreign oil. In 34 years nothing has happened.
We also heard the scare that Al Gore presnted with global warming yet his estate consumes 10 times the average house hold in electricy.
He recieved a Nobel Prize for his contribution. Does it make sense?
Yes he may be using Green generated power but it is still overly consumed.
Back in the eighties when solar heating was popular I attended many lectures on the topic and all had the same number one item to tackle ,reducing heating costs and use of fuels.
"It is much better and more cost effective to cretain a BTU than retain it than it is to produce one, even with the use of solar energy.
So with that in my mind thinking green, living green can be a question of sematics.
Yes by converting corn to ethenol is a method, we loose a food source.
we can all do our share but all known green alternative energies cost more.
With higher heath cost ,food cost, more tazes and reduced wages or loss of job how will we do this?
Bike to work
walk to work
use public transportation
How many are out there ready to give up your freedom to go when you want and stay when you want?
Now it's someone elses turn to add or subtract or highjack this thought.
.........."Dr. dr. help me please, I know youll understand
Theres a time device inside of me, Im a self-destructin man
Theres a red, under my bed
And theres a little green man in my head
And he said, youre not goin crazy, youre just a bit sad
cause theres a man in ya, knawin ya, tearin ya into two.
Silly boy ya self-destroyer.
Paranoia, the destroyer".......The Kinks
Thinking GREEN has gone to my head
