I noticed you are from the Waukesha area so I looked around some and came up with this ad (below the comment here)...which clearly shows 4.25. (I also provided the web address) You may want to call and inquire if she also takes care of children on a hourly basis rather than full time.
I also researched our area and noticed that the 5.00-10.00 range seems like the going rate. It really does depend on alot of factors when you ask how much rates are. How old are the children, and if they are in diapers or not. Also, how many children factors in as well and if you expect any light chores such as feeding dinner, washing the dishes etc.
I think that 'minimum wage' is about the middle of the road as a guideline for 2 kids out of diaper age for a full evening babysitting.
Hope some of this helps.
I have been doing home daycare for 15 years and I am CPR and First Aid trained. I have one full time opening currently available. Full time is 35 hours or more.
I charge 4.25 and hour and that includes lunch,2 healthy snacks, and all drinks each day. Also includes all activities and art projects we do daily.
I have many references that you can check out and a clean environment for the kids to learn and grow in. It is a home away from home atmosphere.
I am located on the west side of Waukesha and very close to Hwy 59
