Re: Abortion
ABORTION: WHERE DO WE DRAW THE LINE?
I have my own PERSONAL set of criteria for when an abortion is ok:
*health risks to the mother, I work with a woman whose daughter if ever would become pregnant would die if she attempted to carry to term.
*rape & incest: self explanatory
*severe deformities based on medications consumed from mom of the fetus which would cause a miscarriage or still birth. I'm sorry but I do know women who based on the happenings around a pregnancy were advised from several MDs not to carry because of the above.
*stupid, super young teenage pregnancies (which should be followed up with mandatory education.) Again I know of GIRLS who were barely into adulthood when circumstances arise in which they were knock-up. I have to ask should your 8, 9 or 10 year old carry a child, when her body yet isn't fully developed?
Politically, I can not support the idea of the government making laws about the governance of my own body. For example what Supreme Court ruling of 1973 with Roe v. Wade decision.
I think so many people are against it because they do not understand all the different possible circumstances (they are uneducated on the matter), or because they truly believe it is wrong. They see it as murder. They do not believe in the free will of an adult woman. They worry about over using abortion. Abortion as opposed to the prevention of pregnancy.
...AJEs word: To fully consume this very controversial topic you must be able to understand the issue as a whole not from a single side.
