DONATIONS URGENTLY NEEDED!!!!!! We at Small Scale Reptile Rescue regularly have to take custody of Crocodilians. Our group is the primary outlet for dumped and confiscated crocodilians in the states of IL, IN, WI and MI. This also involves a LOT of driving on our part because few shelters are trained in handling these animals. We DO NOT adopt these animals out. We place them in the care of licensed professionals across the country at Zoos, Nature Centers, Gator preserves.
We make sure each alligator is in TOP health. Each crocodilian costs our rescue $100.00 in vet work and blood work. We have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on care, medical treatment and feeding of these animals. These are not animals that we receive and adoption fee for. We do not receive restitution from the animals taken from people who own them illegally. Often the animals are in poor health conditions and need medical treatment. Many of these animals are confiscated in illegal ownership visits, drug and dog fighting raids, neglect or abuse situations.
