Hunters in Wisconsin took more than 2,000 bears
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Hunters killed more than 2,570 black bears in Wisconsin this past year.
The state Department of Natural Resources says Bayfield County was the hot spot, with 240 bears harvested in 2007. Next was Price County with 227 bears.
Hunters submitted 34,975 applications for 4,405 bear permits.
