What an adventure the "Voices of the Late Unpleasantness" Soldiers, Bella’s and Sirs of the Civil War era re-enacting how they touched many lives during the war between the states. A virtual story they did a well job shedding some light a piece of American History. The patrons like myself saw several key figures reminiscing about their lives during the times of bloodshed. All were heroes to this Green Lake Community. May they RIP, their legacy will forever be remembered.
Lt. Col. William A. Bugh: first man to enter the war from Berlin in Company G, 5th Wisconsin...goes from there. Fort Williamsburg. RIP 8-19-1875
Lt Edgar Chamberlain: Company C 18th WI Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Shiloh RIP 9-28-1904
Corporal Horace Miner: Immigrated to WIS Wautoma. 84th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment. 1st Wisconsin Cavalry. RIP 4-15-1907
Joseph H Turner: Surgeon immigrated to Wis. 1st Wisconsin Cavalry. Opened a Real Estate business in Berlin.
Colonel George Morton: Immigrated to Berlin, Wisconsin. Company F, 9th New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry. Antietam and Fredericksburg. Set up the first WWI Veteran's Organization.
Cap Charles Russell: Company E, 1st Wis Cavalry. Wounded and captured at Bloomfield Missouri in 1862. Prisoner at Andersonville. Sheriff of Berlin.
Sergeant Major James Strong: Berlin native. Williamsburg, Wilderness...died of injuries at a Military Hosp...Unmarked Gravesite.
Cap Louis G Strong: Berlin native. 1st Lt of Company G, 5th Wis. Fredericksburg...Unmarked Gravesite.
