Re: Hi everyone
I just reread my post, and to changing occupations, I used to be a dispatcher for a large trucking co for many yrs, gave it up to take care of people that really have problems. I"m finding it a really good career move.
Lets see ,my hobby farm consisted of Chickens of all varities, Flemish Giant rabbits, sheep and a hereford mom and her 2 babies. several cats and a few old dogs I rescued from Clark county pound.
I now have only a few cats and the dogs, as we are getting ready to move, hopefully in the next yr.
I really enjoyed the animals, but I hated taking care of them in the winter!! Water was a big issue as I had to carry out buckets of warm water 2x a day for the small animals , and drag the garden hose out of the basement for the cattle every 3 days. The feed bill was getting outrageous, but I will cherish what I learned from the experience. So now I just look for locally grown beef, chicken and eggs from others in my area.
I also grow a 1 acre garden and preserve what I can from that and give my neighbors bushels full of produce every week during the summer months.
I also want to thank every one for the welcomes and like I said ask me anything , I like to gab!!!!
