I found this article very interesting. A group of engineers has started "Email-Free Fridays" at Intel. The goal isn't to slack off, it's to encourage telephone and face contact.
I can appreciate a personal touch in buisness, but without email I'd be in big trouble! I use email so I can have a written record of my contacts. I recap calls in emails all the time. I'm also lack short-term memory so I have to write things down.
