I was approving the classified correspondence today and I found a real interesting link in one of them. There is a volunteer organization dedicated to help reunite lost, stolen and found parrots and birds with their families.
It is called 911 Parrot Alert. They have a database of lost and found birds. They also have tips for recognizing scams. I had never realized that scammers prey on pet owners who have lost their pets. Telling them they found their pet, asking them to pay money up front for its return. After they take the money, you never hear from them again.
Such a shame.
