Hi all. I have been a member of The Bubbler for quite some time but never formally introduced myself. My name is Kelly and I live in Merrill. I am a married (20 years this Dec) mother of three. Dustin, my oldest will be 20 and is in his 2nd year of college. Kristin, my daughter is the middle child and just turned 17 this year and is a senior in high school. My youngest son, Cassidy is attending his first year at the high school as a freshman. The youngest two are active members in the Merrill Marching Jays for band and now is our busiest time of year. They are 4.0 honor roll kids and I couldn't be more proud as a parent.
As my title says, I am a HUGE animal lover. With many cats, dogs and fish....I am a busy busy lady. Man, I love my pets. Just as much as my kids.

But I am sure my fellow pet lovers, you can understand that statement. All my pets were strays or rescues. I have a cat with feline diabetes that isn't cheap to treat to other cats that have behavioral issues. I wouldn't trade any one for any amount of money. Point being, they are happy, healthy, have their shots, been fixed and living out a life of their dreams.
I currently did a expansion that wasn't cheap to house more fish tanks for my home based business. I own and operate Kelly's Aquatic Rescue Services. My motto is "If it don't have a fin - we won't let it in." That was my husband's idea as we have WAY too many things here with fur. (I still don't know what the problem is with that haha) I currently have over 80+ tanks for more that 3500 gallons of water. I also am the largest angelfish breeder in the state and soon will be out marketing my product. I love the rescue part the best...that is where my heart and soul are.
I believe these types of pets are found to be readily disposable once their "flare" is gone. People don't think that this type of pet is worth saving once they don't want them anymore. There is no reason why there is a rescue for any other type of pet (cats, dogs, birds, reptiles) and not for fish. So please if you know anyone who needs to get rid of anything with a fin, tell them about me. I have a list growing strong of people who are looking for certain things. I haven't found a fish yet that I couldn't find a good home for.
Fish have personalities like no other. They are a little more high maintenance than other pets, but I feel they are well worth the extra trouble they may bring. Whether saltwater, freshwater, pondfish.....I take it all in and know all about them. If I cannot find them a home then they will stay here and live out their lives happy and well cared for. This is my way of doing my little part in saving unwanted pets.
By reading the forums I see that I am surrounded by people with big hearts for pets like me. That is great to know that there are so many others out there. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you as this is a great site, even just to meet new people. Great work guys.
