It might be a little late for this, but maybe the info can help someone else. A friend that I work with had a very simalar situation with his dog. Within a few days his dog could get up, but would just fall over. The 1st vet could not positivly identify the problem but suspected paralysis. But asked him to see another vet who he felt could better diagnose the problem. The second vet took one look at the dog and said it had Lymes disease. They gave it some meds and within hours he was showing improvment and within a week or two it was the same playfull self. And this was a dog very close to being put down. Lymes disease is often misdiagnosed in dogs and people as well.
