I buy and sell on eBay with very few problems. I bought a Jeep from a woman in Marshfield, and it was a very fair deal. Exactly as advertised. And I love it. Most everyone is very friendly and way above board. But there are a few who abuse it.
I've been selling triangle looms on eBay for several years, and have met some very wonderful people in so doing. I maintain contact with several of the weavers, and they have come back for multiple looms and triloom stands. This year I hope to partner with a weaver in Texas for the From The Land craft show in October (near Green Lake). I want to offer some of her shawls along with my trilooms and bonsai.
eBay is relatively safe, and they have policies in place to help both the buyer and the seller should there be a dispute. And they are constantly adding features to make selling easier. I haven't done a store, but do use templates. Yes, there's a fee, but it's less expensive for me to sell on eBay than to pay for a website.
