Hello from Toronto (Canada, that is)
Hi!
I am an original Wisconsinite, but have recently moved to Toronto.
I sure do miss a lot of things I took for granted in Wisconsin, like the Friday night fish fries and people who talk normal!
I was born in Sparta ( a long time ago...), and lived in Cashton until I was 11 years old. My family moved to Janesville then, and I graduated from GS Parker High School in 1972.
I decided to see the world, so after a year at U-Rock, I joined the Army, and saw.....Texas and Illinois!
Decided to get out of the Army and went to the UW and graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1981. Too bad we didn't have sports then (just kidding!) except for hockey....Go Badgers!
I moved around our great state and worked as a pharmacist in a few places (know where Wonewoc is? LOL), from 1982 to 1998. Then, upon the urging of some friends from Akron, I moved to Ohio, hoping to travel the Eastern US and see the BIG cities. After 8 years of that, I decided to experience the big city life internationally, so I moved to Toronto (to a warmer climate!). Now, Canadians sure are a polite bunch, but they talk funny. They don't even know what a bubbler is!
But my heart and family is still in Wisconsin! And I have managed to convince my Canadian family and friends to cheer for da Badgers (for some reason, they like hockey the best, dunno why).
So, being a bit homesick, I stumbled onto this website, and felt right back at home again. Love the "You are a Wisconsinite if..." page. So here I am again, if only in spirit! And nice to be back among my own, donchaknow!
