WI. My best friend and life long bird dog Eddie went from running and jumping on 4/8 to being unable to get up or walk. Like I said on Easter he was fine and very energetic but come Tuesday 4/10 morning he was unable to get his rear end up to walk and by the time I got him to the vet that night he was unable to get up or stand on his own. He trys to stand on his wrists in front but falls over like he is unbalanced. He has been at the vet since but is coming home tonight possibly to never recover according to the vet. He has had every blood test available and nothing is out of place, he is on several antibiotics and steroids but is not showing any improvement. The only thing the vet can come up with is it may be coon dog paralysis but he has never seen it before and does not seem confident. I contacted the U of M and they can do an autopsy once he passes if I so desire. Has anyone had any simular exsperiances with a dog and if so please reply with anything that may shed some light.
