Public radio show this weekend, a show about Easter cooking traditions in families. A mom called, said she and her mom and grandma colored eggs by boiling with onions. Didn't know why.
Another caller said it came from the depression. Cheap coloring.
Told my wife about it. She said, yeah, beats and other things work, too. And the eggs pick up some of the flavor.
