We deleted over 50 of this response to classified ads at theBubbler this morning. The benefit of NOT having your email in your classified ad is that we eliminate the mast majority of messages like this so you don't have to. It's rather easy for us to recognize these because we see so many at one time and because we do this every day and have become adept at spotting scammers.
The telltale signs:
A non-US email address
Item name in brackets
Addressed to 'seller'
Convoluted English
Offer to ship overseas
Use of certified check
Overreaching familiarity - how's your family?!
Asking about the item's 'present condition' (that phrase is overused in scams)
Regards,
Keith
