Does New Holstein have alot of calves roaming around on the streets, or is that just what you call the place? Seems odd that a person would name a city after a baby cow, or seal, or whale, or hippopotamus, or some such mammal baby.
Perhaps the German immigrants that settled there in the mid 1800' that came from the Schleswig-Holstein region of Germany named it that...or some such.
