Top cop pays fine, docks himself 4 points on license after traffic violation
KEWASKUM, Wis. - Police Chief Richard Knoebel says he wasn’t about to take the easy way out when he accidentally drove past a stopped school bus with its emergency lights flashing.
For violating traffic laws, Knoebel wrote himself a ticket for $235, docked himself four points on his driving record and paid the fine the next day.

This is very interesting.
On the lighter note would you call this public message an "Amber Alert"?
I think it is quite admirable that he recognized his error like most of us would but he missed the big-time brow beating/judgemental condescending lecture from the arresting officer you normally do get. You know the one, it adds insult to injury as passing morotrists pass you by, rubber-necking to see who was caught.
Now do not get me wrong these guys put their lives on the line every time they go to work and are required to approach a civillian.
The nature of the beast is they see the worst in people which does not make for good conversations but if your smart, let them be one-sided.
Now the next thing for this guy needs to experience is being down-sized by a younger less-paid officer and then get the lecture, the ticket, try to figure out how to pay the fine, pay higher cost for auto insurance for 3 to 5 years and look for another job, while your kids need braces.
I guess you can say he did not get the "Humbling Experience"
Humbling: having a full-length mirror in the same room where you take a shower.
