re: rain
Thanks Keith,
Its funny but a lot of my ideas on my city project came when the contractors were building my addition and the owner was explaining how to move the water away from my 100 year foundation. So far its working but of course I still get spring water issues.
Our other soon to be property is built on into a hill. For some reason they decided to run the drain from the top near the driveway under the basement to the lower side in front of the door entrance to the lower residents. Then a ditch runs for 25-30 feet in to the field which is already wetland.
On the top of the hill is the street drainage ditch and I am almost positive that since the ditch has not been cleaned out since my wife grew up there. The ditch will overflow in the spring and cause flooding in my front door entrance on the bottom of the hill.
I plan on use simple tactics of a water garden, drainage tile, building up the driveway landscaping with bushes and cleaning out the ditch to fix the poor drainage problem created by building the house as if it were a dam on the hill.
