At 100 acres, John Lake isn’t exactly big water. However, it has a surprisingly good fishery for such a little lake. Mike Beth, owner of Parkside QuikMart, 14048 Highway 32, Mountain (715) 276-7161, says you’ll find some Muskies of 36 inches or better here, along with big Northern Pike, some decent Largemouth Bass, and the usual crop of Wisconsin panfish. The south-side access is rather poor, and there’s not much parking, but John is probably worth fishing in spite of the obstacles.
