I was born in Ladysmith. I go back there a few times each year. They have a really nice park which is alongside of the Flambeau River. Some of the buildings that were destroyed in the tornado have not been rebuilt and the town seems just as small as when I was a kid...but it is a nice place to visit. Since the mine on Hwy 27 closed, they have used the site as a picnic place and I think there are even horsetrails and walking trails. We will visit the former mining site this year when we go up to Ladysmith.
