Lake Superior question
We were discussing our recent trip to the Bayfield/Ashland area with a neighbor and the question came up...
Does/has Lake Superior ever frozen over in recent history (since 1900)?
Are the Great Lakes subject to 'tides'; or are the Lakes to small to be subject to tides or are the Lakes' tides too miniscule to be measured?
My early years were spent near the Detroit River. Grandpa was an active member of the Power Squadron and could tell what all the horns and whistles heard from the river ment. This was back in the 40's. Lots of oar carriers, frieghters, and ocean frieghters passing through at that time, a very busy place.
