I will try to tell all of you what I know of my home. Florence county is made up of 1 city(Florence) and multiple towns. Those being Aurora, Fence, Homestead, Long Lake, Spred Eagle, Commonwealth, Fern, and Tipler. Cut and paste for more info

It is in the far NE part of the state. It is over 80% wooded and most jobs are seasonal or with city in Florence or Iron Mountain,MI. The county is a sportsmans paradise, with fantastic rivers, steams, and lakes, as well as great hunting and wildlife viewing. The people are warm and welcoming here, and will go out of their way to answer a question, or lend a hand. The living is laid back here. Most people do not move away. It is a nice way of life. Those that do move to the big city, soon return. Those that come here from the big city are soon to find out that nothing is hurried here. Most is at steady and deliberate pace...it makes for long life and happy people. You will not find shopping malls here. Just different shops and businesses that meet your every need. And by the way, this is not a tourist trap type of place. Everyone pays the same reasonable prices for everything.
There are restaurants here that will put the big cities to shame, and at a price that will make you look to see if they did not forget something on the bill. And portions are not small. You can get 24 hour breakfeast at just about any establishment , but my favorite is Bev's in Florence. Best steak has to be T&T supper club in Aurora. C&R bar in Aurora and the Black Bear in Florence have Great bar food and burgers(but just about every bar has a great grill). The Chuckwagon in Spread Eagle has great fishfry( most are top notch).
Snowmobile trails and ATV trails enter all the towns, so you are always able to stop and check out the towns even while you are scooting down the trails.
Well that is enough for now.....come visit and have fun in "our neck of the woods"
