Now my kids have grown up that way. I need a TV on in order to sleep.

Up until my husband got diabetes and lost 35 pounds last fall I had to sleep with the CD player on in the bedroom every night in order to fall asleep. The music helped to drown out his terribly loud snoring! I played a CD of Air Supply and would fall asleep around the third song! Since he lost weight, he doesn't snore as loud now so I don't have to use the music to fall asleep anymore. I did try it again recently and it actually kept me awake!
As far as tvs go, we have four here. The one in the living room is the only one hooked to cable right now. The one in my son's room is only used for playing video games occasionally since he's off at college plus he bought a smaller tv for his dorm room but didn't take it there this semester so it's sitting in a box in the basement. The one in our bedroom quit working a few months ago which I'm glad about since my hubby would turn it on every night and then fall asleep. I never liked having a tv in the bedroom anyhow and if I have my way, we won't replace that one either. Now if we watch tv, we do it together...so much nicer.
