I have no problem doing this for people as the mod but the problem is no matter how much I try to be available I am not always here. There for someone may contact me and have to wait until I am back on, read the message, and go in and change the issue. If it is something the person feels uncomfortable after writing and posting a few hours can seem like a long time while other members are seeing the post.
I have no idea why the restriction on the edit button but if it is there to help with security issue perhaps it could be rectified by allowing the 'edit' button after a member posts a certain amount of posts and becomes 'known' in the forum? Or at least lengthen the time set from 19 minutes to a day to allow the member to change things.
Just my thoughts. ..

I agree... security shouldn't be an issue, since we can only edit our own posts, no one elses & asking someone to do it for you is like a child asking permission IMO
allowing people this freedom makes sense... it's our post, we should be able to edit or even delete for any reason.
again this is just my opinion, but i have seen several members complain on the boards as well.
